Mersham Girls Win Again

Sunday 22nd July saw the Bexley Bees make the trip to Flood Street to play the Mersham Girls in an 8-a-side T20 friendly.

Both sides agreed to bat the entire 20 overs irrespective of the number of wickets lost and having won the toss Mersham asked the Bees to bat first.  Despite a brilliant 50 by Georgina Tyler they were restricted to 90 for 7 in their 20 overs thanks to good bowling from Alyson Horn (3 for 11), Helen Fagg (2 for 20) and Sam Saunders (2 for 20).

In reply an explosive start saw Helen Fagg hit 21 in 3 overs before becoming the first of Jessica Chandler’s victims as she finished with 3 for 25.  With good contributions by Amy Wellard (17) and Ella Darlington (15) and an elegant innings by captain Lauren Uttley who finished retired not out 26 Mersham won the match reaching 146 for 4.
