Women’s team progressing well
The 2018 season has seen the recently established Women & Girls Section take some significant steps forward.

Two of our current players, Lottie McVittie and Scarlet Timms, have been chosen for their Kent Age Group Squads and I am hopeful that others will be good enough to join them for the 2019 season.
We now have a nucleus of 16 players most of whom are training each week and what has been both surprising and pleasing is the extremely high level of commitment shown by the players to improving in all aspects of the game.
In order to test themselves the team has taken on much tougher opposition this year in a number of friendlies and whilst there has been a gap in the standard provided by some opposition players it is clear that we are making real progress.
Next year we have the opportunity of entering the newly formed Kent T20 League where we will compete against clubs with similar WAG’s sections in terms of ability and number of year’s established. It is encouraging that all of those who are currently involved want to play in this new League and I firmly believe that if we can continue on our upward trajectory in batting, fielding and bowling we will be more than competitive.
Both Kevin and I would like to thank of the girls for their hard work and commitment so far this year and remind everyone we have at least 4 more games to go this season.
